My Christmas...

I had a great Christmas in Albuquerque New Mexico. I enjoyed seeing my family. Visiting with my grandfather was priceless. I enjoyed our time alone on Christmas Eve watching the Christmas devotional on the BYU channel and hearing the message from President Monson. I fed him lots of cheese and treats! We had plenty of snow and cold weather during our trip. We dealt with difficult driving conditions and had to drive home on Christmas day to beat even worse weather. The good news was I got to spend time with Stephen on Christmas day! Enjoy the pictures and short video of me in the snow. Oh and Happy New Year!

Christmas comes early...

I got my Christmas presents early from Stephen. I got a plasma TV and a new tv stand. I absolutely LOVE them. I love having high definition now. Everything is so clear and big. Thanks Stephen!

Hugh Laurie SNL

Hugh Laurie is hilarious! I wanted to post more but youtube has them all blocked because of copyright laws. This is the only one I could find. It is pretty funny though.

STRESS...

I am beyond stressed out. My first final is on Tuesday. My last final is next Tuesday the 16th. Most of my finals involve both a written and oral exam. I have a fear of public speaking so you can image how tough that is for me. I am also trying to end up with 3 A's and 1 B! Wish me luck. I cannot wait until it is over. I REALLY need that month off. I want to lock myself in my house for 3 days and sit in front of the TV and not do ANYTHING. Right now I want to rip my hair out I'm so stressed. I'm too old for this. Better late than never I guess right? Pray for me, I need it.

The Keg Steakhouse and Bar...

Tonight Stephen and I went out to a romantic dinner at The Keg. We had the best meat and potatoes and had the best seats right in front of a roaring fire place. We could feel the heat and it felt great. The lights were down and they had nice music playing. We were dressed nice and really enjoyed each others company. We had a lovely evening.

Great snack...

One of my favorite snacks. You should try it sometime! You have to have the buttermilk and the flamin hot cheetos together. YUMMY

Corpse...

Today I got to see a cadaver. I even got to put on gloves and touch all his organs. I got to actually take his heart out of his body and explore it. He had a feeding tube in and when looking at his removed ribs there were wires from a previous open heart surgery. He didn't have any eyes or a brain just an empty skull. His skin was thick and leathery and it was the worst smell I have ever smelled but I handled it well. Plus he was a leg amputee which brings me to my quotation of the day: "I have no idea who's leg this is." Said by my anatomy teacher when there was some random leg next to the stump of the man's body. It was just a full leg up to the hip just lying there. It was really funny. The hip bone was sticking out so I got to touch it. I appreciate the old man for donating his body to science. I also appreciate the leg for donating it's leg to science!

Christmas...

I'm already in the Christmas mood. I'm sitting here with my loving boyfriend listening to Christmas music and enjoying egg nog. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite funny Christmas tunes. Please enjoy. I have to say that this is the most broke I've been since I've been an adult and I'm the most thankful. I truly realize that it's not about the gifts. I am blessed to have such a great family, a fantastic boyfriend, a house, an education, and my church. Enjoy the music and be thankful!

A sheep's heart...

This sheep's brain smelled so bad I thought I was going to fall over and die. I made it through and it was a fun experience. The first picture is after I removed all the fat. The second one is after I cut it open.

I Love Eyeballs...

This is the eyeball that I dissected today. When I cut it open slimy fluid squirted everywhere. It was totally awesome! I got to play with all the inside parts and cut them to little pieces. It was great fun.
Stay tuned for the heart next week!

Sheep Brain

This is a sheep's brain I dissected in anatomy lab. It was great fun. It was squishy and smelly.
Quotatio

Things to ponder...

Why do we drive on parkways, and park on driveways?

Is Santa so Jolly because he knows where all the bad girls live?

How is it possible to have a civil war?

How much deeper would the ocean be if sponges didn't grow in it?

If it is zero degree
s outside today and it is supposed to twice as cold tomorrow, how cold is it going to be?

What does the Q in Q-tip stand for?

Volunteering...

I started my volunteer hours this morning at Arizonan's for Children. I need 240 hours of volunteer work to graduate so I better start now. This is a place where parents and children can come to meet and visit under supervision. They are in a situation where the child or children have been removed from the home by CPS and the parents are close to getting their kids back. They come to a church where they can play with their kids and interact but it is supervised by a CPS worker. I am a second set of eyes to make sure the child is in a safe environment and that there isn't any inappropriate behavior going on with the parents. I also do things like make sure the the alarm is off, the doors are unlocked, and the facility is clean. I make sure the parents are cleaning up after themselves and I also watch to make sure the parents don't show up under any drug or alcohol substance. If so I have to tell the CPS worker and they may cancel the session. It's great to see the interaction between the parents and child. The children are so happy to see their parents and its great to see them getting close to being a happy family again!Funny cat pics.

Something to ponder:
Why is it that when you are driving and looking for an address you turn the radio down?

Vacuums...

You know what I think about vacuums? I think they SUCK. Ha no pun intended. As far as we've come with the technology you would think they would work better. I have a really nice one and and its brand new. While vacuuming today the lovely smell of burning rubber began to fill my house. One would think they would have done away with the awful belts. They did away with the bags why not update them a little more. I HATE that smell and it takes forever to get it out of your nostrils. Taking those things a part is crazy then you have to deal with that dreaded belt. UGHHH....We now even have vacuums that vacuum for us. What the heck man?
Quotation of the day: Some people shouldn't carry placenta except licensed placenta carriers.
Said by a girl in my anatomy class today. Long story! I laughed so hard though. Good times!

American Sign Language

So I started American Sign Language today! I decided to take it instead of spanish. I have learned so much in just one day. There is absolutely no verbal communication allowed ever in class by the students or the teacher. I thought the teacher was deaf but it's just the way she teaches. It's so hard to not talk but it is amazing how much easier it is to learn the language when I can't use my voice. What an amazing language. I am eager to learn more and wish I had someone to talk to and share what I have learned. School is going well. I have started 3 of the 4 classes and I am already a little stressed. My social work class is going to be fun and so will my anatomy class. A lot of work but fun. We get to dissect a brain, an eyeball, and a heart. Pretty sweet. Well I am encouraging Stephen to at least learn the ASL alphabet so I can at least talk to him that way. I will tell him everything I have learned after every class to practice and try to get to Target more often. They sometimes have hearing impaired employess. Wish me luck. :)

Charlie's Birthday

Today is Charlie's 6th birthday! I might take him to PetSmart tonight. He likes going there. He is going to get some special attention tonight. Here are some pictures that I just took and a short video.
